A mount is a conservation-safe, rigid support covered in fabric. Flat textiles are carefully sewn to the mount using specialized stitches, which help reduce movement and minimize the risk of damage over time. Once mounted, the piece can be framed if desired. Three-dimensional textiles can also be supported with custom-designed forms, including padded mounts or carved Ethafoam shapes, providing stability whether in storage or on display. Mounting not only protects the textile but also allows it to be safely handled and beautifully presented for viewing.
